“And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then…you will gradually…live your way into the answer." - Rainer Maria Rilke
We all live by stories. There are times when your story will feel confusing, crowded with questions, and too heavy to carry alone. Therapy is a space to share your story with a trusted person who can help you discover your authentic voice. It’s an honor to join you in this process.
I have extensive experience supporting people through trauma, grief and loss, and major life transitions, including menopause, empty-nesting, and career changes. My clients often want to deepen their self-awareness, understand how the past impacts the present, and find ways of living with more meaning and contentment. I enjoy supporting people who might identify as “late bloomers” and are exploring the deeper life questions about purpose and choice.
My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. My love of literature influences my attitude towards therapy, and pairs powerfully with my professional training in Existential Psychology. Therapy with me often includes increased access to inspired creative self-expression. I am committed to cultural sensitivity and social justice practices and principles and recognize that each person is shaped by rich layers of social influence.
Born and raised in California, I’ve called Seattle home for many years. After focusing on English and creative writing as an undergraduate, I developed a career in adult education administration at the University of Washington. The healing and change I experienced in personal therapy led me to eventually return to school to earn a Master’s degree in Existential Psychology from Seattle University.
Choosing the right therapist for you is essential for your personal growth. If you feel drawn to work with me, reach out and schedule a first session or a phone consultation to see if we are likely to be a good fit. For clients who are feeling deeply stuck in old patterns and want to make substantial, sustainable progress, I recommend weekly counseling sessions. When you are ready to step into that commitment, I look forward to meeting you, and to the work ahead.
