I view the therapeutic relationship as a creative collaboration in which the client is the expert on their own lives. My goal is for my clients to feel seen and valued in the process of becoming more fully self-expressed. I work with people who are experiencing anxiety, trauma, and blocked creativity, and I focus on supporting people through life transitions including divorce, fertility issues, and grief/loss. My style as a therapist is warm, compassionate, and relational.
I believe that the human spirit is resilient, resourceful, and always oriented towards healing. I use a variety of tools to support this innate capacity including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an evidence-based therapy used to treat various forms of trauma and stuck memories. I also use creativity, movement, and mindfulness to support the healing process.
In addition to therapy, I have experience working as a personal stylist and helping clients build a more fulfilling relationship with their self-image and creative expression. I bring creativity, humor, and depth to my client relationships, and I believe honesty and empathy are the foundation for healing. It is an honor to come alongside my clients as they explore their identity – who they have been, who they are now, and who they want to be.
I grew up in Wisconsin (where I developed a love for Packers football and cheese) and finished my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Leadership at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Subsequently, I moved out to Seattle to pursue my graduate degree in School Psychology at the University of Washington. I spent many years working with children with autism and doing assessments at Seattle Children’s Autism Center while also building a personal styling business on the side as a creative outlet. This helped me understand that creativity can be profoundly transformational. Outside of work, you can find me attempting yoga handstands, baking peanut butter brownies, exploring local thrift stores, and eating the spicy wontons at Din Tai Fung.
