My journey to becoming a counselor has not been a typical one. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Stanford University in civil and environmental engineering.  I am currently completing my third and final year of a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University. It was a tough decision to start a change in profession after 16 years as a structural engineer. Ultimately, I made the choice because I wanted to make a more personal and fulfilling impact with the work I do. As an engineer, I designed structures to meet the challenges and needs of our communities. Now, I hope to use my life experiences and clinical skills to directly help individuals navigate the unique challenges they face in their communities.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I can offer support to those struggling with career-related stress, relationship issues, or coping mechanism that are no longer serving them. No matter who the client, I believe living authentically is key to personal growth and happiness. Our work together will emphasize developing the tools needed to express yourself, build confidence, develop healthy relationships, and overcome the challenges keeping you from your goals.

I provide a custom therapeutic plan for every client using an integrative approach that draws from Narrative and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. As a gay, Latino man who immigrated to the US at a young age, I know the power and weight that our stories carry. I understand the important role our families, friends and identities play in our lives. That is why I aim to create an authentic and respectful relationship between us so that the work we do is meaningful and aligns with your goals. My therapeutic style is grounded in empathy and lightheartedness. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for you to explore, laugh, cry, and ultimately grow into the person you want to be.

Outside of my professional life, I’m happiest when I’m engaging with my community. That looks like going to the movies with friends, playing kickball with my team, or trying a new restaurant with my boyfriend. And although I enjoy my routines, I live for adventure and new experiences. Most of all I enjoy traveling to places I’ve never been before.
