Support Group: Group therapy for family members of people struggling with addiction

Support group for people struggling with addiction

This group is for the family, friends, and loved ones of those who struggle with addiction and are seeking ways to help. This group will help you build a community of others with similar experiences, improve your own self care, remember your own importance in the midst of trying to support others, and educate yourself and your community about addiction. This group brings support and empathy to those impacted while also teaching skills to manage emotions and interpersonal relationships. The group leaders will also provide resources for group members to help assist with their healing.

This is a 10 week group led by therapists Derek Cooper and Dania Uritskiy that will meet every Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:30pm . Meetings will start with a 20-30 minute check in for updates and also to build community within the group. The remaining time in the group will be focused on psychoeducation and answering questions. There will be a weekly topic covered throughout the group that will follow concepts around the impact of addiction. Topics include boundary setting, family roles and rules, self-care and coping with the family.
