DBT Skills Group

A group that helps build a life worth living

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a therapy modality that supports people in accepting the reality of their lives and unhelpful behaviors in order to create long-lasting change. This group is specifically for people who are actively struggling with overwhelming emotions, impulsivity, trauma, intense daily stress, self-injury behavior or thoughts, substance use, and difficult social, romantic, or familial relationships. The goals of this group are to support people in building a coping skills toolkit, increase the ability to practice emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness, and to create a life worth living.

This is a group led by therapist Zoe Kinsey that will meet every Tuesday from 6:30pm-7:30pm starting on May 16, 2023. This is a rolling group and you are welcome to join in at any time.

Groups will start with a 15-minute check-in conversation for members to share updates and develop a sense of community within the group. The remaining time will be focused on psychoeducation and group activities/practice of coping skills. There will be a weekly module and coinciding coping skills covered throughout the group that will follow the concepts of dialectics and behaviorism. DBT modules include a focus on mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance.

Location: Virtual

Time/Date: Tuesdays from 6:30pm - 7:30pm from May 16, 2023 and ongoing.

Fee:  $80/session

Building long-lasting, effective coping skills requires consistency. In joining this group you are making a commitment to yourself and your future. We understand that things can change day to day, so please be aware that there is a 24-hour notice required if you need to cancel.

Group members are not required to purchase any extra materials or attend the full 12 weeks of the program, but are highly encouraged to attend the group in its entirety to accumulate the full set of DBT skills.

If you are interested in joining the group after the first session, the group facilitator, Zoe, is available for individual sessions to provide a DBT overview and provide insight into any skills taught up until the current session.
